German Glühwein with Cognac
Ingredients
- Red Grape Juice - 2 qt
- Cognac - 8 fl oz
- Sugar - ½ cup
- Cinnamon - 3 pieces
- Ground Nutmeg - 0.1 teaspoons
- Ground clove - 6 pieces
- Ground clove - 0.1 teaspoons
- Lemon - ½ piece
- Oranges - 1 piece
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Pour the dry red wine with high alcohol content into a large pot and place it over low heat.
Step 2
When the wine heats up to about 158°F, add the spices and sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
Step 3
Then pour the cognac into the wine, add the sliced oranges and lemon, and continue to simmer on low heat for about 1 hour. During this time, you can add more sugar to taste.
Step 4
Serve hot in mugs with fresh oranges.
