Grilled burgers with feta and fried red onions
Ingredients
- Lean Beef - 3 lbs
- Oregano - 2 teaspoons
- Feta cheese - 8.8 oz
- Salt - 1.5 teaspoons
- Ground Black Pepper - 1.5 teaspoons
- Garlic - 8 cloves
- Olive Oil - 5 fl oz
- Onion - 2 pieces
- Bun - 8 pieces
- Tomatoes - 2 pieces
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, feta, oregano, salt, and pepper. Divide into 8 portions. Shape each portion into a flat patty, slightly pressing the center.
Step 2
In a blender, crush the garlic, gradually adding 120 g of olive oil, and blend for 30 seconds.
Step 3
Preheat the grill to barbecue mode. Cut the onions into 4 wedges. Brush with the remaining olive oil. Add salt and pepper. Place the patties and onions on the grill. After five minutes, flip them. Remove from the grill when the onions fall apart into rings and the meat reaches medium doneness, which takes about 4 minutes. Transfer to a plate.
Step 4
Spread the inside of each bun with the prepared garlic oil. Place the buns on the grill, cut side down, and grill for 1 minute. Flip and cook for another minute.
Step 5
Remove the buns from the grill and assemble 8 burgers by placing the patties, onions, and sliced tomatoes between the halves.
