Description
Ham croquettes pair perfectly with tartar sauce or salsa. For convenience, raw croquettes can be stored in the freezer and cooked at your desired time without thawing beforehand.
Ingredients
- Ham - 7.1 oz
- Milk - 1 qt
- Butter - 5.6 oz
- Wheat Flour - 9.5 oz
- Breadcrumbs - 21.2 oz
- Chili Flakes - to taste
- Farm fresh eggs - 2 pieces
- Rosemary - 1 sprig
- Vegetable Oil - 17 fl oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Cut the ham into cubes (5x5 mm) and sauté in butter in a deep skillet.
Step 2
Add rosemary and chili flakes. Gradually add the flour, stirring to prevent lumps.
Step 3
Remove the skillet from heat. Pour in the preheated milk. Stir until a smooth, thick mixture forms.
Step 4
Transfer the croquette mixture from the skillet and let it cool and rest for 1 hour.
Step 5
Prepare an egg wash from the eggs. Using two tablespoons, shape the cooled mixture into croquettes, forming them into cylinders or balls, dip in the egg wash, and coat in breadcrumbs, then dip again in the egg wash and breadcrumbs. Repeat for each croquette.
Step 6
Fry the croquettes in hot oil until golden brown, either in a deep fryer or in a skillet with plenty of vegetable oil.
