Description
* To slice the ham into neat, even pieces, dip the knife in hot water before cutting each slice, then dry it with a towel — this way, the cheese will not crumble, and the appetizer will look more presentable.
Ingredients
- Ham - 10.6 oz
- Cheese Spread - 14.1 oz
- Garlic - 1 clove
- Herbs - 1 bunch
- Gelatin - 1 tablespoon
- Water - 2 fl oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Grate the cheese using a fine grater. Wash the herbs, dry them, and chop finely.
Step 2
Peel the garlic and press it through a garlic press.
Step 3
Place the gelatin in a small saucepan, cover it with cold water, and let it swell for 40–60 minutes.
Step 4
Put the saucepan with the swollen gelatin over low heat. Heat, stirring, until the gelatin is completely dissolved, without bringing it to a boil.
Step 5
In a bowl, combine the cheese, herbs, garlic, add the gelatin solution, and mix well.
Step 6
Lay out plastic wrap on the table and place the cheese mixture on it. Cover the cheese mixture with plastic wrap and roll it out with a rolling pin to a thickness of 1 cm (the cheese mixture should be rolled out to the exact size of the ham block).
Step 7
Place the ham on the rolled-out mixture and wrap it so that the ham is inside (the cheese mixture should fit snugly around the ham).
Step 8
Wrap the ham in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2–4 hours. When serving, slice the ham into pieces.
