Ingredients
- Rye Bread - ½ piece
- Herring - 2 pieces
- Butter - 7.1 oz
- Chocolate eggs - 2 pieces
- Lemon - 1 piece
- Spanish onions - ½ head
- Parsley - 1 bunch
- Dill - 1 bunch
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Capers - 2 tablespoons
- Olive Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Mustard Greens - ½ teaspoon
- Ground Black Pepper - a pinch
- Ocean salt - a pinch
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Boil the eggs hard and mash them with a fork.
Step 2
Finely chop the onion and pour boiling water over it.
Step 3
Peel the garlic, crush it with the flat side of a knife, and mash it into a paste with a pinch of salt.
Step 4
Cut the herring into small pieces.
Step 5
Squeeze the juice from the lemon.
Step 6
Finely chop the parsley and dill.
Step 7
Mix the softened butter with the onion, then gradually add the eggs, garlic, olive oil, mustard, lemon juice, capers, herring, herbs, and a pinch of pepper, mixing thoroughly each time.

Wrap the herring butter in foil and place it in the fridge for 2 hours.

Slice the bread and toast it in a dry skillet, toaster, or oven.
