Description
Homemade Chicken Shawarma
Ingredients
- Armenian Lavash - 1 piece
- Poultry - 17.6 oz
- Onion - 2 pieces
- Korean-style Carrots - 10.6 oz
- Marinated cherries - 10 pieces
- Mayonnaise - 5.3 oz
- Ketchup - 5.3 oz
- Chicken Egg - 2 pieces
- Vegetable Oil - 1 tablespoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Boil the chicken. Cut (or tear) it into separate pieces. Sauté until a slight crust forms. You can add soy sauce if you prefer a salty flavor.
Step 2
Slice the onion into half-moons. Sauté in vegetable oil until golden brown. Drain the oil. Transfer to a separate dish.
Step 3
Cut the cherry tomatoes into quarters.
Step 4
For the sauce, mix mayonnaise and ketchup in equal proportions.
Step 5
Beat 2 eggs with a whisk and set aside to brush the inside and outside of the lavash.
Step 6
Cut the lavash (I usually have it folded into quarters) into 6 pieces.
Step 7
Take a small piece of lavash. First, brush it with an egg, then with sauce, and top it off with onions, carrots, and tomatoes. Place the chicken in the center of the lavash. Roll it up into a tube.
Step 8
Brush with egg on both sides and place on the skillet (or grill). Cook on both sides until a crust forms.
