Description
To enhance the flavor of this moonshine, various fruits and berries can be added to the mash, such as grapes, plums, etc. — they impart their taste and aroma to the finished drink and also aid in the fermentation process due to the wild yeast present on their surfaces. The process of distilling the mash into moonshine has its peculiarities. For example, the mash should fill the fermentation vessel to 70–75 percent of its volume. This is done to prevent the mash from spilling over and extinguishing the flame or entering the system during heating. Another point is that you should not distill the mash in the same vessel where it was fermented, because the yeast sediment that forms at the bottom is not suitable for distillation.
