Homemade Shawarma with Cheese
Ingredients
- Armenian Lavash - 2 pieces
- Cheese Spread - 5.3 oz
- Lean Beef - 7.1 oz
- Tomatoes - 2 pieces
- Herbs - 1 bunch
- Onion - 1 piece
- Vegetable Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Cheese Spread - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Unroll a large Armenian lavash (30x40 cm) and fold it in half from one edge (this is necessary to prevent the bread from tearing and to hold the filling).
Step 2
Grate the cheese and place half of it in a rectangular shape on the lavash.
Step 3
First, fry the ground beef in vegetable oil. Then let it cool and place half on top of the cheese.
Step 4
Slice the tomato and place it on the beef. Spread a small amount of sauce or mayonnaise on top.
Step 5
Cut the onion into thin half-rings; spread half of the onion over the sauce.
Step 6
Finely chop the herbs (dill, parsley, basil) and sprinkle them over the onion. There should be a generous amount.
Step 7
Season the filling with salt and pepper to taste. Fold the edges of the lavash.
Step 8
Roll up the first wrap. Repeat with the second.
Step 9
Heat a skillet with butter, place the shawarma in it, and fry on both sides over medium heat until a crispy golden crust forms.
