Description
If this festive drink isn't festive enough for you without whipped cream or marshmallows, feel free to add them. However, even without them, the hot chocolate is self-sufficient.
Ingredients
- Condensed Milk - 1 teaspoon
- Cocoa Powder - 2 teaspoons
- Coconut Milk - 9 fl oz
- 70% Dark Chocolate - 1.1 oz
- Liquid dark chocolate - 1.1 oz
- Coconut Liqueur - 0.1 teaspoons
- Almond - 0.1 teaspoons
- Cinnamon - 1 piece
- Desiccated coconut - ¼ cup
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Take the mugs in which you will serve the hot chocolate and coat the rims with a small amount of condensed milk. Lightly toast the shredded coconut in the oven at 392°F for 5 minutes until golden brown and use it to rim the mugs.
Step 2
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the coconut milk and condensed milk. Add the cocoa powder and cinnamon stick, bring to a boil, and simmer the mixture for a couple more minutes. Remove from heat and add both types of finely chopped chocolate, let it sit for a minute or two, remove the cinnamon, return the chocolate to medium heat, and warm it again, stirring thoroughly until smooth. Remove from heat, add the coconut and almond extracts, stir, and pour into the mugs rimmed with shredded coconut. Serve immediately.
