- Beef - 33.5 oz
- Pork Blood - 10.6 oz
- Walnuts - 7.1 oz
- Ghee - 17.6 oz
- Bulgur - 14.1 oz
- Onion - 3.5 oz
- Kufta - 0.4 oz
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
For the filling, grind the meat using a meat grinder.
Step 2
Sauté the prepared minced meat in a generous amount of clarified butter and add crushed walnuts. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and mix thoroughly.
Step 3
Next, prepare the filling for the outer layer. Pass the beef and dry bulgur through a meat grinder twice, then add the prepared köfte mixture to it.
Step 4
From the prepared mixture, shape small balls, create a dent in each with your finger, fill them with the filling, and then shape them like lemons.
Step 5
Once ready, place the ishli in the freezer. They can be stored for a considerable time.
Step 6
Boil in salted water for about 20–25 minutes. Serve with lemon.
