Ingredients
- Olive Oil - 3 tablespoons
- Onion - 1 head
- Garlic - 3 cloves
- Lentils - 1½ cups
- Crushed Tomatoes in Their Own Juice - 14.1 oz
- Chicken Broth - 15 fl oz
- Water - 2 cups
- Bay leaf - 2 pieces
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Chopped Sage Leaves - 0.3 cups
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Heat the olive oil in a large pot and sauté the finely chopped onion until translucent. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
Step 2
Add the chopped tomatoes, lentils, 1 cup of water, broth, and bay leaves. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and cook until tender, adding water as necessary. Season with salt and pepper.
