Description
Instead of beef, you can use chicken fillet. You can also add any vegetables to taste. Jellied meat can be prepared in one large mold, but I prefer to make it in individual portions, as it is very convenient to serve at the table. The specified amount of ingredients yields 6–8 servings.
Ingredients
- Gelatin - 0.7 oz
- Onion - 3.5 oz
- Carrot - 7.1 oz
- Bay leaf - 1 piece
- Beef - 10.6 oz
- Chicken Egg - 2 pieces
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Place the meat, peeled carrot, and onion in a pot, cover with 1.5 liters of water, and cook for 1 hour. Add the bay leaf, pepper, and salt 15 minutes before it's done.
Step 2
Soak the gelatin in 150 ml of cold boiled water and leave for the time specified on the package. Then strain the broth (you need a total of 500 ml of broth), add the gelatin, put it on the heat, and bring to a boil, but do not boil.
Step 3
Separate the egg whites from the yolks. Cut the egg whites into cubes (the yolks are not needed). Cut the carrot into cubes. Cut the meat into cubes. Mix the meat, egg whites, and carrot.
Step 4
Place cranberries and herbs in the molds. On top of the cranberries and herbs, layer the meat with egg whites and carrot. Pour the broth over it.
Step 5
Place in the refrigerator and chill until the jellied meat is completely set (about 5–7 hours).
