Ingredients
- Lean Beef - 1.8 oz
- Ginger - 0.2 oz
- Garlic - 0.2 oz
- Celery stalk - 0.2 oz
- Tobanjan sauce - 0.7 oz
- Soy Sauce - 0 fl oz
- Sugar - 0.2 oz
- Chicken Broth - 3.5 oz
- Tofu - 3.5 oz
- Salt - to taste
- Sichuan pepper - ½ teaspoon
- Starch film - 0.2 oz
- Scallions - 0.2 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients.
Step 2
Cut the tofu into cubes about 2.5 cm on each side.
Step 3
In a saucepan, bring water to a boil, add salt, lower the heat, and add the tofu. Cook for 3–4 minutes, then transfer to a paper towel.
Step 4
Finely chop the celery, garlic, and ginger.
Step 5
Heat vegetable oil in a skillet and fry the ground beef until browned.
Step 6
Add the celery, garlic, and ginger, and sauté for another 20 seconds.
Step 7
Add the tobanjan, soy sauce, sugar, and broth. Bring to a boil.
Step 8
Add the tofu and simmer on low heat for 2–4 minutes.
Step 9
Add the Sichuan pepper and simmer for another 30 seconds.
Step 10
Add starch to thicken the sauce.
Step 11
Serve, garnished with rings of green onion on top.
