Marbled Pattern Dyed Eggs
Ingredients
- Chicken Egg - 5 pieces
- Onion - 0.2 oz
- Red Food Coloring - to taste
- Vinegar essence - 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable Oil - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients. Take the eggs out of the refrigerator in advance and allow them to come to room temperature.
Step 2
Crush the onion skins in a mortar and pestle or a blender until the pieces are about 5–10 mm in size.
Step 3
Cut the paper into small, random pieces.
Step 4
Thoroughly wash the eggs with a brush, then without drying, roll them in the husk and paper.
Step 5
Cut off the toe of a thin nylon stocking and tie one end securely with a knot. Place one egg into the stocking at a time, separating them with knots. The nylon should fit snugly against the eggs to keep the paper and shells in place.
Step 6
Place the eggs in a pot of water and bring to a boil. Boil the eggs for 10 minutes. Let them cool completely.
Step 7
Remove the eggs from the stocking, and peel off the shell and paper.
Step 8
Dissolve the dye in 100 ml of cold water, adding a tablespoon of vinegar, and dip the eggs in one at a time for 2–3 minutes. This step can be skipped.
Step 9
Place the eggs on plates and carefully wipe them with a towel.
Step 10
Soak a piece of cotton in vegetable oil and rub it over the eggs to make them shine.
Step 11
Serve. Happy Easter!
