Description
If desired, horseradish or allspice can also be added to the herbs.
Ingredients
- Orange Bell Peppers - 52.9 oz
- Water - 50 fl oz
- Vegetable Oil - 8 fl oz
- Vinegar essence - 5 fl oz
- Sugar - 7.1 oz
- Salt - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 1 head
- Green peppercorns - to taste
- Parsley - to taste
- Dill - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Remove the seeds from the peppers and cut them lengthwise into long strips about 3 cm wide.
Step 2
Prepare the marinade: add sugar, vegetable oil, salt, vinegar, and black peppercorns to boiling water.
Step 3
Once the marinade comes to a boil, add the peppers and wait for the marinade to boil again, then 'cook' the peppers in the marinade for 5 minutes.
Step 4
While the peppers are cooking, prepare the jars — place some herbs and garlic at the bottom. Cut the garlic cloves in half beforehand.
Step 5
Using a slotted spoon or tongs (I use IKEA salad tongs), remove the peppers from the pot, distribute them among the jars, and pour the hot brine over them. Seal the jars with lids, turn them upside down, wrap them in a blanket, and let them cool.
