Description
Mexican-Style Pork Tartlets
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 1½ glasses
- Butter - 5.3 oz
- Chicken Egg - 3 pieces
- Mild Chili Spice - ½ spoons
- Pork Mince - 10.6 oz
- Scallions - ½ bunches
- Cheshire Cheese - 5.3 oz
- 33% Cream - 1 glass
Step by Step guide
Step 1
For the base, in a large bowl, mix flour, butter, 1 egg, and 0.5 teaspoons of salt using a hand mixer on low speed. Grease a muffin tin with butter and dust it with flour. On a floured surface, roll out the dough and cut out 20 equally sized circles. Place the dough into the greased tin, pressing the sides well to form a little basket.
Step 2
For the filling, preheat the oven to 356°F. In a shallow skillet, sauté the lean ground pork over medium heat, but not until fully cooked. Season it with chili and 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
Step 3
Fill the pastry molds with the stuffing, grated cheddar cheese, and chopped onion. In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 eggs and cream, seasoning with salt. Pour the mixture into the molds up to the top edge.
Step 4
Bake the tartlets for 25–28 minutes, or until they are lightly browned. Allow them to cool for 10 minutes, then gently remove them from the mold and serve warm.
