  • Pearl barley - 3.5 oz
  • Butter - 1.8 oz
  • Milk - 13 fl oz
  • Onion - 1 head
  • Salt - to taste
  • Herbs - 1.8 oz

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Soak the peas for several hours.

Step 2

Combine the peas and barley, cover with cold water, and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat, add the milk, butter, and salt. Cook until ready.

Step 3

Chop and sauté the onion in butter. Add to the milk soup.

Step 4

Before serving, sprinkle with chopped herbs.
