Description
Bacon should be lean! You can substitute the chicken breast with turkey. Use regular tomatoes instead of cherry tomatoes. Along with the basil, add a bay leaf.
Ingredients
- Onion - 2 pieces
- Celery salt - 1½ stalks
- Skin-On Chicken Breasts - 2 pieces
- Carrot - 2 pieces
- Bacon - 8.8 oz
- Marinated cherries - 18 pieces
- Passata Tomato Sauce - 2 spoons
- Basil - to taste
- Taco seasoning mix - to taste
- Olive Oil - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Salt - to taste
- Red Canned Beans - 1 can
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Sauté the onion, carrot, and celery in olive oil directly in the pot for about 10 minutes.
Step 2
Add the chicken and bacon (briefly sauté the chicken first), and cook for about 5 minutes.
Step 3
Season with salt and pepper, add Italian herbs, tomato paste, tomatoes, and beans along with the liquid from the can. Pour in 600–900 ml of water, depending on the desired consistency, and bring to a boil.
Step 4
Add chopped basil (amount to taste) and simmer for about 10 minutes.
