Description
Mulled Wine with Mandarins and Ginger
Ingredients
- Red Grape Juice - 25 fl oz
- Mandarins - 5 pieces
- Lime - ½ piece
- Ground Cinnamon - 1 tablespoon
- Grated Ginger Root - 1 piece
- Ground Nutmeg - 1 tablespoon
- Star anise - 1 piece
- Honey - to taste
- Ground clove - 2 pieces
- Raisins - 3 tablespoons
- Dry martini - 3 fl oz
- Pear - 1 piece
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Pour the wine into a thick-walled pot.
Step 2
Squeeze the juice from 4 mandarins and add it to the wine.
Step 3
Thinly slice a piece of ginger about 5 cm.
Step 4
Cut the pear into 4 pieces, remove the core, and cut each piece in half lengthwise.
Step 5
Cut the remaining mandarin into large pieces without peeling. Cut the half lime into quarters.
Step 6
Add all the fruits, raisins, and ginger to the wine, along with the spices and martini.
Step 7
Heat over low heat, making sure it does not come to a boil. Heat until steam begins to rise. If you have a good pot, like a Zepter, you can turn it off and let it steep for about 10 minutes.
Step 8
Then add honey to taste — the more sour the wine, the more honey you should add.
Step 9
Serve warm.
