Mullet in Marinade
Ingredients
- Mullet - 28.2 oz
- Onion - 1 head
- Carrot - 1 piece
- Celery stalk - 1 piece
- Tomato Puree - 5.3 oz
- Bay leaf - 1 piece
- Clove - 2 pieces
- Fish Oil - 7 fl oz
- Allspice berries - 3 pieces
- Garlic - 1 clove
- 9% Vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable Oil - 2 fl oz
- Wheat Flour - 1.8 oz
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients.
Step 2
Slice the onion into half rings.
Step 3
Cut the carrot and celery into thin strips.
Step 4
Place the chopped vegetables in a saucepan, add the tomato puree, and put it on the heat.
Step 5
Add the broth, crushed garlic, bay leaf, allspice, and cloves.
Step 6
Simmer until the vegetables are soft.
Step 7
At the end, season with salt to taste, add vinegar and 50 ml of vegetable oil.
Step 8
If the mullet is large, cut it into steaks; if small, leave it whole.
Step 9
Season the fish with salt and pepper and coat it in flour. Shake off the excess flour.
Step 10
Heat vegetable oil in a skillet and fry the fish over medium heat on both sides until cooked through.
Step 11
Pour the marinade over the cooked fish and refrigerate for 2–3 hours to allow it to marinate well.
Step 12
Serve the marinated mullet as a cold appetizer.
