Description
"They are eaten, yet they stare." What child would refuse sausages wrapped in dough? You can keep it simple by using ready-made puff pastry. And make sure to stock up on cheese sauce and ketchup: without them, the 'mummies' will feel lonely. For an extra visual effect, draw a spider web on the sauce using a regular toothpick.
Ingredients
- Sausages - 14 pieces
- Puff Pastry - 3.5 oz
- Vegetable Oil - to taste
- Wheat Flour - 0.7 oz
- Ketchup - to taste
- Cheese Spread - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients. Preheat the oven to 374°F.
Step 2
Thaw the dough for 10–15 minutes at room temperature.
Step 3
Grease the baking sheet with vegetable oil and set aside.
Step 4
Roll the dough out thinly on a surface dusted with flour.
Step 5
Cut the dough into thin strips, one for each sausage. For convenience, you can use a pizza cutter.
Step 6
Wrap each sausage with a strip of dough, leaving gaps in between.
Step 7
Transfer the sausages to a baking sheet and place them in the oven for 10–12 minutes.
Step 8
Pour ketchup into a sauce dish, then squeeze out cheese sauce in a spiral pattern. Use a toothpick to create a web-like design on the sauce.
Step 9
You can decorate the cooked sausages with ketchup eyes or create them using other available ingredients, such as black pepper or clove buds (in this case, it's advisable to inform guests not to eat them).
Step 10
Serve the 'mummy' sausages with the 'spider web' sauce.
