Description
This mushroom caviar can also be made from fresh mushrooms, but caviar made from dried mushrooms is tastier and more aromatic.
Ingredients
- Dried Chinese mushrooms - 12.3 oz
- Onion - 2 heads
- Salt - to taste
- Vegetable Oil - 3 fl oz
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Soak the dried mushrooms in cold water for 3–4 hours. Then drain the water, rinse the mushrooms, cover them with clean water, and cook until tender. Cool the cooked mushrooms and chop them with a knife.
Step 2
Finely chop the onion and sauté it in vegetable oil until golden brown. Add the prepared dried mushrooms to the onion and simmer on low heat for 10–15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
Step 3
Cool the resulting mushroom caviar and blend it in a blender or pass it through a meat grinder.
