Description

Mussels baked with sake, soy sauce, and ginger

Ingredients

  • Pasta shells - 17.6 oz
  • Leek - 2 pieces
  • Spanish onions - 1 head
  • Scallions - 4 stalks
  • Carrot - 1 piece
  • Garlic - 2 cloves
  • Ground ancho chili pepper - 1 piece
  • Sake - 4 tablespoons
  • Grated Ginger Root - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy Sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Butter - 0.9 oz

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 392°F. Rinse the mussels thoroughly. Check all shells and discard any that are open. Lay out 2 sheets of aluminum foil, shiny side up.

Step 2

In a bowl, mix the mussels and all the vegetables, finely chopping them. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Mix well and divide into 2 portions. Place each portion in the center of a sheet of foil and fold into an envelope.

Step 3

Slightly open the foil and drizzle the mussels with sake and soy sauce, placing pieces of butter on top. Tightly wrap the foil and place on 2 baking sheets. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes, until all the shells open. Transfer to plates and serve.
