Description
This is a typical example of a soup from Southeast Asia. The main flavor components are sautéed in a wok. Then, broth, noodles, and herbs are added. This method can be used to prepare an endless number of soups. A popular seasoning in southern China, star anise, is indispensable in Vietnamese cuisine. Many soups, sauces, and other hot dishes in Vietnam have a distinct anise aroma and taste.

- Star anise - 4 pieces
- Lamb Neck Fillet - 7.1 oz
- Spanish onions - 1 head
- Garlic - 4 cloves
- Sesame Oil - 0 fl oz
- Fish Oil - 2 spoons
- Rice Noodles - 7.1 oz
- Cilantro - 1 bunch
- Campbell's Beef Broth - 3 qt
- Mild Chili Spice - 1 piece
- Lime - 2 pieces
- Napa Cabbage - ½ pieces
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a preheated wok, pour in the oil and sauté the sliced lamb, onion cut into half-moons, coarsely chopped garlic, and star anise.
Step 2
Once the meat is fully cooked, pour beef broth into the skillet and simmer the soup for two minutes until it starts to boil vigorously.
Step 3
Then add the rice noodles and cook for another two minutes, after which add the chopped bok choy to the wok and squeeze the juice from two limes. Wait for the liquid to come back to a boil, then stir in the coarsely chopped cilantro, add the fish sauce, and the sliced peppers. Turn off the heat. Cover with a lid and let it sit for a minute. After that, serve onto plates.
