Description
An impressive breakfast made from simple ingredients — lavash roses are just as easy to prepare as regular hot sandwiches with cheese and ham, if you know exactly how to roll them up beautifully. The omelette baked in the oven turns out fluffy and hearty. Kids especially love surprises like this: getting them to eat in the morning is usually a challenge, but they won't refuse an omelette with a bouquet. And it only takes 20 minutes to make!
Ingredients
- Armenian Lavash - 1 piece
- Cheese Spread - 3.5 oz
- Ham - 3.5 oz
- Tomatoes - 3.5 oz
- Chicken Egg - 5 pieces
- Milk - 5 fl oz
- Herbs - to taste
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Butter - 1.4 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Cut the lavash into strips about 4–5 cm wide.
Step 2
Slice the ham and cheese into thin pieces, and the tomatoes into rounds.
Step 3
Lay out strips of cheese, tomato, and ham in succession, alternating them with each other while simultaneously rolling the strips to form 'roses.' If the roses unravel, you can secure them with a toothpick, but don't forget to remove it later.
Step 4
In a skillet, heat a little vegetable and butter oil, and sauté the florets on all sides until they are lightly crispy.
Step 5
Take a tall baking dish and generously grease it with soft butter. Arrange the rose shapes in the dish with the cut side facing up (remove any toothpicks if used).
Step 6
Crack the eggs into a bowl, add the milk and salt, and whisk well (do not beat!).
Step 7
Pour the resulting mixture into a baking dish and place it in a preheated oven at 356°F for 30 minutes.
