Ingredients
- Spanish onions - 3 heads
- Olive Oil - 3 tablespoons
- Soy Sauce - 1½ tablespoons
- Balsamic Vinegar - 2 tablespoons
- 20% Sour Cream - 4 tablespoons
- Semi-soft cream cheese - 9.9 oz
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Dried Chamomile - 1 teaspoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Peel and finely chop the onions.
Step 2
Heat olive oil in a skillet, add the onions and thyme, and sauté, stirring occasionally, until caramelized, about 20–25 minutes.
Step 3
Add balsamic vinegar and soy sauce, keep on heat, stirring occasionally, until the liquid has almost completely evaporated, about 10–12 minutes.
Step 4
Remove the onions from heat and let cool.
Step 5
While the onions are cooling, blend the sour cream, cream cheese, and black pepper until smooth using a mixer or blender.
Step 6
Add the cooled onions and blend again using the blender.
Step 7
Chill the prepared dip.
Step 8
Serve with toasted bread or sliced fresh vegetables (cucumbers, carrots, celery, radishes).
