Ingredients
- Onion - 6 heads
- Tomatoes - 6 pieces
- Chopped Sage Leaves - 3 tablespoons
- Fresh basil leaves - 3 tablespoons
- Sourdough Bread - 1 piece
- Oregano - to taste
- Olive Oil - to taste
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Wash the tomatoes, dry them, and cut them into large pieces. Peel the onion and chop it coarsely. Wash the herbs, dry them, and chop finely.
Step 2
In a pot, bring 1.5 liters of water to a boil and add the tomatoes, onion, and herbs to the boiling water. Season with salt and pepper, and add a few tablespoons of olive oil. Cook the vegetables in boiling water until the onion is soft.
Step 3
While the soup is cooking, toast several slices of rustic or whole grain bread on the grill or in the oven. Rub the bread with garlic and sprinkle with chopped parsley and basil.
Step 4
Place a slice of bread with herbs in each bowl and ladle the soup over it. You can also sprinkle with dried oregano.
