  • Mayonnaise - 7.1 oz
  • Chipotle Pepper Paste - 50 tablespoons
  • Meyer Lemon Juice - 0 fl oz
  • Vegetable Oil - 1 qt
  • Milk - 4 fl oz
  • Fresh Oysters - 21.2 oz
  • Coarse Cornmeal - 3.5 oz
  • Large eggs - 1 piece
  • French Baguette - 1 piece
  • Iceberg Lettuce - 8.8 oz
  • Lemon - 6 pieces

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Combine mayonnaise, chipotle, and lemon juice. Mix well, cover with plastic wrap, and set aside.

Step 2

Now it's time to fry the oysters: heat the oil in a large deep skillet to 302°F.

Step 3

While the oil is heating, beat the egg, milk, and salt. In a separate bowl, combine cornmeal, salt, and pepper. Dip each oyster first in the egg mixture, then coat in the flour.

Carefully transfer to the skillet with oil. Fry, turning occasionally, for 1-2 minutes until golden brown. Move the oysters to a paper towel.

Step 5

To assemble the sandwich, slice the baguette lengthwise and spread mayonnaise sauce on each half. Place the oysters, then add the lettuce.
