Description
Panko-breaded tiger shrimp
Ingredients
- Peeled Cooked Shrimp - 17.6 oz
- Soy Sauce - 0 fl oz
- Sesame Oil - 1 fl oz
- Panko breadcrumbs - 1.8 oz
- Cayenne Pepper - a pinch
- Meyer Lemon Juice - 1 fl oz
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Vegetable Oil - 1 qt
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Thaw the frozen shrimp; if using fresh shrimp, leave them as they are. Remove the intestinal tract, but leave the tails if they are present. Marinate the shrimp in a mixture of sesame oil, soy sauce, lemon juice, and cayenne pepper. Let them marinate for ten minutes.
Step 2
Heat unrefined vegetable oil in a saucepan until it reaches a boiling point.
Step 3
In one bowl, place the panko breadcrumbs, and in another, lightly beat an egg. Dip the shrimp into the beaten egg one at a time, coat them in the panko breadcrumbs, and then add them to the hot oil.
Step 4
When the shrimp turn a nice light brown color in the oil, remove them, drain on a paper towel, and enjoy. They pair very well with rosé wine, by the way.
