Pea Soup with Bacon and Croutons
Ingredients
- Frozen green bean pods - 30 oz
- Chicken Broth - 40 fl oz
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Parsley - 1.4 oz
- Marjoram - to taste
- Bacon - 7.1 oz
- Cream - 4 tablespoons
- Onion - 1 head
- Butter - 1.4 oz
- White bread - 5 pieces
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Chop the peas. Place them in a pot, add the broth, bring to a boil, and add the marjoram. Season with salt and pepper. Cover, reduce heat, and let simmer for 15 minutes.
Step 2
Pass the peas and broth through a sieve. Then add the dressing and chopped parsley. Bring to a boil. Add the cream.
Step 3
Slice the bacon thinly and fry in butter.
Step 4
Chop the onion. Sauté in the leftover bacon fat.
Step 5
Cut the bread into cubes and fry in the same fat until crispy.
Step 6
Mix the bacon, onion, and croutons and add to the soup.
