Description
Instead of smoked chicken drumsticks, you can use pork ribs. Feel free to use your favorite spices to taste. Here, paprika, ground black pepper, and a little khmeli-suneli are used.

- Pea shoots - 7.1 oz
- Smoked Chicken - 8.8 oz
- Orange Bell Peppers - 3 pieces
- Salad Potatoes - 2 pieces
- Spanish onions - 2 heads
- Turnips - 2 pieces
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Paprika - to taste
- Green peppercorns - to taste
- Bay leaf - to taste
- Khmeli-suneli - to taste
- Herbs - to taste
- Sour Cream - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare the ingredients. Rinse the vegetables. Peel the onions, potatoes, and carrots.
Step 2
Rinse the split peas, soak them for 45–60 minutes, and then cook them in the same water.
Step 3
Finely chop the onion.
Step 4
Grate the carrot on a coarse grater.
Step 5
Dice the bell peppers into small cubes.
Step 6
Once the peas boil, add the smoked chicken drumsticks cut into medium pieces to the pot.
Step 7
Add the diced potatoes.
Step 8
Sauté the onion and carrot in a skillet with vegetable oil.
Step 9
Add the diced bell pepper to the onion and carrot. Stir occasionally, sautéing the vegetables until partially cooked.
Step 10
At this stage, add paprika, khmeli-suneli, and ground black pepper to taste.
Step 11
Add the bay leaf and whole black peppercorns to the pot, and season with salt to taste.
Step 12
Incorporate the sautéed vegetables.
Step 13
Let the soup simmer on low heat for another 10–15 minutes.
Step 14
Serve with sour cream and herbs.
