Ingredients
- Donut Peaches - 28.2 oz
- Water - 2⅕ l
- Sugar - 10.6 oz
- Citric Acid - ¼ spoons
- Cinnamon - 1 piece
- Activated Baking Soda - 1 tablespoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients.
Step 2
Thoroughly wash the peaches and place them in a bowl of cold water. Add 1 tablespoon of baking soda and let them soak for half an hour.
Step 3
Sterilize the jar over steam for 15–20 minutes. Scald the lid with boiling water.
Step 4
Rinse the peaches under running water and pat them dry.
Step 5
Cut the peaches in half and remove the pits.
Step 6
Prepare the syrup. Combine water, sugar, and citric acid. Bring to a boil and cook until the sugar has dissolved.
Step 7
Place the peaches at the bottom of the jar. Top with a cinnamon stick.
Step 8
Pour the peaches with syrup.
Step 9
Seal the jar, turn it upside down, and cover it with a blanket until it cools completely.
Step 10
Peach compote can be enjoyed right away or stored for the winter.
