Ingredients
- Pears - 1½ kg
- Sugar - 17.6 oz
- Clove - 2 pieces
- Meyer Lemon Juice - 1 fl oz
- Water - 2 qt
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients. Sterilize the jars and lids over steam for 15–20 minutes.
Step 2
Wash the pears and peel them.
Step 3
Cut in half and remove the core.
Step 4
Arrange the pears in a sterile jar, trying to place them as closely together as possible.
Step 5
Bring water to a boil and pour it into the jar to the top.
Step 6
Let it sit for 10 minutes, then pour the water into a pot.
Step 7
Bring the water to a boil again, add sugar, cloves, and pour in the lemon juice. Boil for 2 minutes over high heat.
Step 8
Pour the pears in the jar with boiling syrup.
Step 9
Seal the jar, turn it upside down, wrap it in a blanket, and let it cool completely.
Step 10
Turn over and store.
