Ingredients
- Pearl Onions - 16 pieces
- Carrots - 2 pieces
- Bacon - 7.1 oz
- 48% Cream - 1 fl oz
- Dry White Wine - 20 fl oz
- Butter - 0.9 oz
- Wheat Flour - 2 tablespoons
- Olive Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Mustard - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 356°F. Place the onions in a baking dish, drizzle with olive oil, and pour in 400 ml of white wine. Season with salt and pepper, then bake in the oven for 30 minutes, until the liquid has evaporated almost completely.
Step 2
Cut the carrots into pieces and sauté in melted butter for about 5 minutes. Add flour, mustard, salt, and pepper, and cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.
Step 3
In a separate skillet, fry the bacon in olive oil, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes. Pour in the remaining wine and simmer until the wine evaporates. Mix the bacon with the cream and combine with the carrot-mustard mixture. Serve the onions generously drizzled with the sauce.
