- Pattypans - 2 lbs
- Water - 1 qt
- Salt - 1.4 oz
- Sugar - 1.1 oz
- 9% Vinegar - 1 fl oz
- Bay leaf - 1 piece
- Dill - 2 pieces
- Allspice berries - 6 pieces
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients.
Step 2
Wash the small young pattypans that can fit into the jar without cutting.
Step 3
Transfer the pattypans to sterilized jars.
Step 4
In a pot, bring water to a boil with sugar, salt, bay leaf, pepper, and dill.
Step 5
Add vinegar to the marinade.
Step 6
Pour the hot marinade over the pattypans in the jars.
Step 7
Seal with lids, turn the jars upside down, and wrap them in a blanket to cool slowly.
Step 8
Store the jars of pickled pattypans for at least a month before tasting.
