Ingredients
- Red Wine Vinegar - 4 fl oz
- Water - 4 fl oz
- Sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - ½ teaspoon
- Chili Flakes - a pinch
- Bay leaf - 1 piece
- Spanish onions - 2 heads
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Peel 2 medium onions (or 1 large) and slice them into half rings.
Step 2
In a saucepan, combine the vinegar, water, sugar, salt, red pepper flakes, and bay leaf. Bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
Step 3
Transfer the onions to a sterilized jar and pour the marinade over them to completely cover the onions.
Step 4
Seal tightly with a lid and chill.
