Ingredients
- Sausages - 12 pieces
- Onion - 2 lbs
- Water - 17 fl oz
- 9% Vinegar - 5 fl oz
- Salt - 3 spoons
- Sugar - 3 spoons
- Ground Black Pepper - 20 pieces
- Green peppercorns - 10 pieces
- Bay leaf - 2 pieces
- Garlic - 4 cloves
- Mild Chili Spice - 1 piece
- Black Cumin (Cumin) - 1 tablespoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Mix the water and vinegar. Add all the spices except for the garlic and bring to a boil. Let the marinade cool.
Step 2
Cut the sausages in half lengthwise.
Step 3
Slice the onion into thick half-moons.
Step 4
In a large jar, layer the onions, followed by a layer of sausages, and then another layer of onions. Continue this process until the jar is filled to ¾ full.
Step 5
Pour the cooled marinade into a jar, add the garlic, and seal tightly with a lid. Store in a cool place for 1–2 weeks. Serve with bread and beer.
