Ingredients
- Tomatoes - 1½ kg
- 9% Vinegar - 1½ spoons
- Salt - 2 spoons
- Sugar - 2.1 oz
- Garlic - 3 cloves
- Allspice berries - 6 pieces
- Dill - 3 pieces
- Black Currant Leaves - 3 pieces
- Horseradish Leaves - 1 piece
- Bay leaf - 2 pieces
- Water - 1 qt
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare and rinse all ingredients under running water.
Step 2
Sterilize the jar over steam for 15–20 minutes. Scald the lid with boiling water.
Step 3
Chop the garlic into several pieces. Divide the horseradish leaf into two parts.
Step 4
Place half of the garlic, half of a horseradish leaf, 3 whole allspice berries, 2 dill umbrellas, 2 currant leaves, and 1 bay leaf into the jar.
Step 5
Top with tomatoes.
Step 6
Add the remaining garlic, allspice, dill umbrella, currant leaf, half a horseradish leaf, and bay leaf.
Step 7
Boil water. Pour the boiling water over the tomatoes and let them sit covered for 30 minutes.
Step 8
Drain the liquid from the jar back into the pot, add salt, sugar, and vinegar. Bring to a boil and cook until the salt and sugar are dissolved, about 1 minute.
Step 9
Pour the resulting marinade over the tomatoes. Seal the jars, turn them upside down, and cover with a blanket until completely cooled.
Step 10
The marinated tomatoes will be ready in about a month.
