Potato Latkes with Red Caviar

Ingredients

  • Salad Potatoes - 15.9 oz
  • Onion - 1 head
  • Wheat Flour - ¼ cup
  • Chicken Egg - 1 piece
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground Black Pepper - ¼ teaspoon
  • Peanut Butter - to taste
  • Sour Cream - to taste
  • Red Caviar - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Grate the potatoes and mix them with finely chopped onion. Transfer to cheesecloth and let excess liquid drain for about 2 minutes. Then lightly squeeze.

Step 2

In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt, pepper, and egg. Add the potato and onion mixture and mix well.

Step 3

Heat a skillet and add 2 tablespoons of oil. Place 1 teaspoon of the batter onto the skillet and gently press down. Fry the latkes over high heat until golden brown for about 1.5 minutes, then flip and fry for another minute. Transfer to a paper towel. Repeat with the remaining batter, adding oil as needed.

Step 4

Top the warm latkes with a small amount of sour cream and red caviar and serve.
