- Salt - to taste
- Gruyère cheese - 2.8 oz
- Basil - 1 piece
- Parsley - 1 stem
- Thyme - 2 pieces
- Tomatoes - 4 pieces
- Onion - 1 piece
- Olive Oil - 6 fl oz
- Salad Potatoes - 3 lbs
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Place the unpeeled potatoes in a large pot and add a teaspoon of salt. Cover with water. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and cook for 20-30 minutes until the potatoes are soft. Drain, peel, and slice into 1 cm thick slices.
Step 2
Preheat the oven to 356°F. Pour a thin layer of oil into a baking dish. Place half of the potatoes and top with slices of half an onion. The next layer is half of the tomatoes, sliced. Then sprinkle a little salt and add half of the finely chopped herbs. Sprinkle with half of the grated cheese. Then layer the remaining: potatoes, onion, tomatoes, herbs, and cheese.
Step 3
Bake for 45 minutes until the tomato slices are completely soft and light brown. Serve immediately in the same dish.
