Description
An interesting recipe that will never yield the same result. Different shades of pumpkin, different shades of orange, and you'll have a completely new flavor. So our advice to you is: cook a little at a time, but throughout the winter, to compare the nuances. The lemon, too, can vary, which will also affect the taste and aroma. From the initial quantity of ingredients, you get about 1.5 liters of jam.
Ingredients
- Pumpkin - 24.7 oz
- Oranges - 12.3 oz
- Lemon - 12.3 oz
- Sugar - 24.7 oz
- Water - 1 qt
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients.
Step 2
Remove the seeds and skin from the pumpkin.
Step 3
Cut the flesh into pieces about 2 cm in size.
Step 4
Cut the lemons and oranges into small pieces, including the peel.
Step 5
Place the pumpkin and citrus fruits in a pot and cover with water.
Step 6
Bring to a boil and simmer for 40 minutes. The citrus peel should soften, and the pumpkin should become tender. Mash the pumpkin with a potato masher directly in the pot.
Step 7
Add sugar, bring to a boil again, and cook until it thickens into a syrup — about 30 to 40 minutes.
Step 8
To check for doneness, pour a drop of syrup onto a small plate and run a spoon through it. If the groove remains and doesn't merge back into a single puddle, the jam is ready.
Step 9
Spoon the jam into sterilized jars, seal them, and allow to cool completely.
Step 10
Store in a cool, dark place.
