Ingredients
- Red Currant - 31.7 oz
- Apple - 15.9 oz
- Onion - 15.9 oz
- Garlic - 1 clove
- Nutmeg - ¼ piece
- Ground Cinnamon - ¼ teaspoon
- Ground clove - ¼ teaspoon
- Brown Sugar - 3 tablespoons
- Malt Vinegar - 3 tablespoons
- Butter - 0.4 oz
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Peel the apples and remove the core, then cut them into small pieces.
Step 2
Remove the outer leaves from the cabbage, discard the core, and shred it. Season with salt and pepper.
Step 3
In a pot, layer the shredded cabbage, followed by a layer of chopped onion and apples, sprinkled with minced garlic, grated nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, and sugar. Continue layering until all ingredients are used.
Step 4
Pour in the wine vinegar and place pieces of butter on top. Cover with a lid and stew in the oven at 302°F for 2 to 2.5 hours, stirring occasionally.
