Description

Some say it was invented by a Jewish grocer, while others claim it was created by a restaurant owner in New York, and some attribute the recipe to a popular American actress. Regardless, this grilled sandwich has found its way into kitchens around the world and has acquired numerous variations. For instance, in Montreal's version, pastrami is replaced with smoked meat, while in Michigan, turkey is used instead of corned beef, and coleslaw is added in place of sauerkraut.
