Ingredients
- Tomatoes - 1½ kg
- Onion - 17.6 oz
- Carrot - 17.6 oz
- Vegetable Oil - 1 fl oz
- Sugar - 1.1 oz
- Salt - 1 tablespoon
- Rice - 8.8 oz
- 9% Vinegar - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients. Soak the rice in cold water for 2 hours beforehand.
Step 2
Peel the onion and carrot, then chop them into small cubes.
Step 3
Cut the tomatoes into small cubes as well.
Step 4
Place the vegetables in the pot.
Step 5
Add vegetable oil, sugar, and salt.
Step 6
Sauté the vegetables for 5 minutes, then add the rice (without any liquid) and cook until the rice is done, about 20–30 minutes.
Step 7
Sterilize the jars over steam for 15–20 minutes.
Step 8
Distribute the rice with vegetables into hot sterilized jars.
Step 9
Drop a little vinegar on the lid and screw on the jars. Cover the jars with a blanket until they are completely cool.
Step 10
Store in a cool, dark place. Serve chilled or warmed up.
