Description
You can use smoked-cooked ham, tenderloin, or roast instead of ham. They can be served either chilled or hot.
Ingredients
- Salad Potatoes - 2 pieces
- Egg white - 2 pieces
- 20% Sour Cream - 2 tablespoons
- Smoked Ham on the Bone - 6 pieces
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Dried Dill Stems - to taste
- Mayonnaise - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Grate the potatoes (2 large pieces) on a coarse grater. Add the yolks, sour cream, salt, pepper, and dill. Mix well.
Step 2
In a well-heated skillet greased with olive oil, spoon the potato mixture to form thin pancakes. Each pancake should match the diameter of the ham. Fry the pancake until golden brown on one side, carefully flip it with a spatula, and fry on the other side. Cover with a lid and cook on low heat until done.
Step 3
Spread a thin layer of thick sauce on one side of each piece of ham (you can experiment with tartar sauce, mushroom sauce, cheese sauce, or 'Thousand Islands'; if nothing suitable is available, you can use regular sour cream or mayonnaise). Place a potato pancake on top of the sauce.
Step 4
Roll it up. Secure with a toothpick.
