Description
About the process. The process is extremely simple and does not require any complicated manipulations. The main thing is to find good rosehips, but for example, I can find them at a nearby store. About the time. Active time is about 10 minutes, passive time is 1 hour. You can also simplify and enhance the recipe if you have an extra 8 hours, for example. In this case, you need to bring the rosehips to a boil, pour them into a thermos, and let them steep overnight. In the morning, add the orange and honey, and voila. But I am impatient; I like it right away. About the taste. I love it very hot and very rich, and with slices of orange, it acquires a very unique flavor!
Ingredients
- Fresh Rose Hips - 11.3 oz
- Date honey - 5 tablespoons
- Mineral water - 1 qt
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a large pot, add a 300 g package of dried rosehips (this is equivalent to 3 cups of 200 g each).
Step 2
Pour 15 cups of clean water over the rosehips (3 liters).
Step 3
Cover the pot with a lid and bring the infusion to a boil; this may take about 20 minutes with this volume of water.
Step 4
After boiling, reduce the heat and simmer for half an hour until the berries burst and sink to the bottom of the pot.
Step 5
Roll the orange on a cutting board until it softens to release its juice. Slice it into rounds, add to the rosehip infusion, and turn off the heat.
Step 6
When the infusion cools down a bit, sweeten it with flower honey (the sweetness of honey varies depending on its type and quality; I need 5 tablespoons for a 3-liter pot). Just don't add honey to boiling water — it will only retain sweetness, and you won't achieve the desired infusion. You can strain it, but I don't; it becomes richer each time.
