Ingredients
- Smoked haddock fillet - 3 lbs
- Oranges - 5 pieces
- Dill - to taste
- Lemon - to taste
- Sugar - to taste
- Coarse Salt - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Rinse the fillet in cold water and pat dry with a paper towel.
Step 2
Sprinkle sugar on both sides of the fish fillets, then rub salt on one side.
Step 3
After that, rub dill into the fish (on both sides).
Step 4
Peel the oranges and slice them into thin rounds.
Step 5
Place half of the oranges at the bottom of a ceramic, glass, or plastic dish, then place the fish on top and completely cover it with the remaining oranges.
Step 6
Cover the dish with a lid and place it in the freezer for a few hours.
Step 7
The fish should firm up but not freeze.
Step 8
Remove the salmon from the refrigerator and scrape off any undissolved salt.
Step 9
If the fish is too salty, rinse and pat dry.
Step 10
Thinly slice the salted fish, roll the slices into spirals or roses, sprinkle with dill, and garnish with lemon or drizzle with lemon juice.
