Description
This is a wonderful traditional Russian appetizer that pairs well with classic Russian drinks: kvass, beer, or vodka, moonshine. For extra crunch, you can lightly toast the bread in a skillet or toaster before adding the butter.
Ingredients
- Sprats - 3.5 oz
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Spanish onions - ½ piece
- Scallions - ½ stalk
- Olive Oil - 1½ teaspoons
- Bread roll - 1 piece
- Salt - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Boil the eggs until almost hard-boiled. Then cool them.
Step 2
Cut the roll in half.
Step 3
Spread the inside with mustard oil.
Step 4
Mash the sprats with a fork in a deep bowl.
Step 5
Add finely chopped onion.
Step 6
Finely chop the eggs and add them to the other ingredients. Add a little salt and mix.
Step 7
Spread the mixture on the roll.
Step 8
Serve with a sprig of greenery.
