Description
For the best experience, the ciabatta should have a slight crunch. If you've been transporting packaged bread from the refrigerator for a while, it may lose its crispness. In that case, warm it up a bit on a grill pan or in the oven, and all or almost all of the crunch will return.
Ingredients
- Ciabatta - 6 pieces
- Parma Ham - 7.1 oz
- Galia melon - 1 piece
- Olive Oil - 1 fl oz
- Fresh basil leaves - 1 bunch
- Lemon - 1 piece
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Cut six small ciabatta rolls in half. Spread each half with a sauce made from extra virgin olive oil, lemon juice, and black pepper. For an aromatic bonus, you can add a splash of Modena balsamic vinegar to the sauce, but this is optional.
Step 2
On the bread, layer thinly sliced Parma ham and thicker slices of sweet Gallic melon. Place two sprigs of fresh basil on each sandwich, then top with the other half of the ciabatta. Enjoy by hand, pairing with bubbly, slightly sweet Lambrusco wine.
