Sautéed Swiss Chard with Olives and Capers
Ingredients
- Pitted olives - 1.1 oz
- Dried Rosemary - ½ teaspoon
- Green onion tops - 1 piece
- Capers - ½ teaspoon
- Olive Oil - to taste
- Swiss chard leaves - 1 bunch
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a bowl, mix the thinly sliced olives, rosemary, finely chopped green onion, capers, and 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
Step 2
Using a sharp knife, cut the stems from the Swiss chard leaves. Chop the stems into small pieces and shred the leaves separately.
Step 3
In a deep skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat and sauté the Swiss chard stems, stirring, for about 1 minute until they start to soften. Then add the olive mixture, stir, and cook for another minute.
Step 4
Next, add the chopped leaves, mix well, cover with a lid, reduce the heat, and cook for 5 minutes until tender.
Step 5
Remove from heat and sprinkle with black pepper.
